Hi everyone! Thanks for popping in again, I hope you’re all doing well. Thomas here again with the bimonthly update!
This fortnight, I made my “final pass” on the unlockable gauntlets! These are basically unlockable movesets that you can equip fight knight with to support your preferred way of playing or just to try out something differet. These have existed in a rough form for a while now, but I really wanted to give them a finishing pass and flesh out the mechanical concepts for each, so that’s what I focused on. It’s gone extremely well and I’m super happy with how these have come along. I’m likely to continue tweaking them right up until release, but for the moment all the major pieces are now in place.
FIGHT KNIGHT KS Update #40: Contiguous Content

Hey everybody! I hope you’ve all been well. Thomas here again with the bimonthly update :)
So as I’d gone over last update, I’ve now moved onto the final phase of polish as well as the NG+ pass. You can read the previous update for more details on that if you missed it! Things have been going well on this front. Last week I was focused on fixing up and revising a few things to do with the ending, which I’m extremely pleased with… This week, I focused on smoothing out the interactivity of a certain side-story in the game. I’ve added some new optional NPC scenes to the game to help flesh out certain things and lead the player along a bit more contiguously. You can see one of these early-game scenes in the following video!

Hi all! I hope you’re all well, it’s Thomas here again with the bimonthly kickstarter update! These last few weeks have been going well! I’m pretty much wrapped up with this first round of beta testing. As of this post, some 10 or so people have completed the game, and it’s gone super well I think! This was the very first beta test I’ve done, we’ve learned a lot from it, and I think the game is in a really good place overall right now. I’m extremely happy with the feedback, i think we’re past any major roadbumps at this point. It’s just a matter of tweaking some stuff, fixing the bugs and tying up a few loose ends. a couple places need a bit more attention like a couple of the bosses and I want to do another pass on the different gauntlets, give them each one more unique attack to help them feel more varied. And based on feedback i’m gonna be adding more optional scenes with the NPCs, more stuff that changes in the town between each level, because what I did have people really liked and they almost all said they wanted more of that. All easy enough to manage, and I’ve already completed a lot of it. Outside this stuff, the levels and content is solid, The gameplay and the story are working, and we’re past the point of any kind of major changes or additions.
FIGHT KNIGHT KS Update #38: Meticulous Morass

Hey everyone! Thomas here again with the bimonthly update. As you’ll probably remember from the previous update, we’re now deep into closed beta testing, and it’s gone really well. Some 15 people have played through the game now with only minor problems which I feel is quite a feat! We’ve been catching lots of little issues and things to improve and overall it’s been a super positive experience. These are some of my closest friends of course, so take this with a grain of salt, but I will say the overall feedback has been extremely positive so far :)
FIGHT KNIGHT KS update #37: Triumphant Testing!

Hey everyone! Thomas here with the bimonthly FIGHT KNIGHT update as usual. These last couple weeks have been incredibly hectic… In a good way! Internal beta testing is now in full swing! It’s been kind of crazy, but it’s also been very good for me, not to mention the game. It’s a little scary to have other people finally play the thing We’ve spent the last four years on, but at the same time it feels really good to be at this point.
FIGHT KNIGHT KS update #36: Punctual Punching Punctuation

Hello everybody! Thomas again, with the bimonthly update. Work has been progressing smoothly, polishing up the areas of the game and specifically paying more attention to the bosses. This week among a lot of other stuff I fixed up the boss of stage 3, his sprites up to this point were just placeholders. I was looking forward to showing off my work here but I just realized while typing this that I should save the boss reveal for when people see it ingame! I decided that I shouldn’t show anything past the fourth stage or any of the bosses past the ones from the kickstarter demo, Sorry haha. I promise it’ll be worth the wait! For now, here’s a gif previewing the gauntlet you can find in stage 3:
FIGHT KNIGHT UPDATE #35: The Polish Continues!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1139574598/fight-knight/posts/3121415
Hey everyone! Thomas here with another update. So I have to be completely honest, in pushing myself to get the internal beta ready before my birthday in early February, I had to really overwork myself, and this last cycle I really paid for it! Once that beta was done, Due to this and some other personal things that happened this month, I’ve unfortunately had to take some time to recover… But I’m back on track this week, and my plan over the next couple weeks is to go through all of the bosses and polish them up to standard. For now, I’ve started with the first boss!

HEY EVERYONE! Thomas here again, and I’m very happy to announce that the game has officially moved on from an internal alpha… to an internal beta! The entire game is now a single contiguous piece! All of the game content is “in place” in one form or another. All of the menus, levels, enemies, bosses, NPCs, encounters, cutscenes, are all created and placed into the game. All of the shops in the town hub are working and filled out. Every single last story scene is totally scripted and programmed. It’s all there! This is a huge relief for me. My own internal deadline was to get to this stage by my birthday, and I just barely made it! Really glad, haha.
Hey everyone. This friday’s update is going to be a bit late. I should have a KS post for you all on monday, but for now I need to focus. Very close to beginning our internal beta… Just taking things one step at a time!
FIGHT KNIGHT KS update #33: Back on the Track

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all well and had a nice, quiet holiday. Thomas here, and I’ve been back to work since the 1st!
Work on the game these last couple weeks started off a bit slow, but I’ve been getting a lot of important things done. I’ve mainly worked on finishing off all the key scenes, and preparing the game for our composer Tom Schley to go through and do his final pass on all the audio. This also means we’ll be ready to start internal playtesting soon. Exciting!

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Thomas here, with the usual update. In the last two weeks I focused on finalizing a lot of backend systems, such as the options menu, options saving/loading, text rendering, fun stuff like that. I also have been working through the scene list as usual.
FIGHT KNIGHT KS update #31: Town Tenders
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1139574598/fight-knight/posts/3041845
Hey everyone! Thomas here with the latest update on my progress with Fight Knight. I reached an important milestone since I last wrote, finishing all of the town NPCs!
The town is a pretty important location in the game, as the hub where you save your game, restock your supplies, and outfit your character to prepare for your next venture up The Tower. There are characters in town who assist you in doing all of that, as well as providing hints, asking you to complete certain things, providing shortcuts, all sorts of different stuff. The content itself has been done for a while, but getting all the menus and UI and NPC logic into a finished state had been hanging over me for a while, so I’m really glad to be able to say it’s all done now! Some of this stuff was present in the demo even back in 2017, but there’s been a lot of work done to it since then.
FIGHT KNIGHT update #30: Early with friends!

Hey everybody! Thomas here with the bimonhtly update, a few days early this time! More on that in a bit, but for now, here’s where my progress with the scene programming was 10 days ago:
